PALAWAN TOURS

NORTHERN PALAWAN (excluding CORON)

ISLAND HOPPING, CORON BAY

(Day tour)

Daytour including highlights of visiting Coron Island. Short climb up its limestone cliffs to its hidden brackish, thermal decline Cayangan / Barracuda Lake. Explore Coron’s blue hidden “twin” lagoon for snorkelling and swimming. Lunch at a secluded beach cove. Next, you will sail along the mangrove; where you can relax in a hot water spring (of salt water).

SEA CANOE

(Day tour)

Paddle yourself (with support banca & guide) and explore the lagoon, beaches and undercut cliffs of Coron Island. Pace and intensity as you desire.

The islands scattered north of Palawan offer one of the world’s most spectacular marine environments. Towering limestone cliffs rear straight up from seas teeming with marine life, and hidden bays offer deserted beaches for camping. The coral reefs here are amongst the most extensive in the country, so be sure to bring your snorkeling gear. Many islands are also covered in jungle, the habitat of rare bird species. If you are willing to carry your boat, you can explore some of the lakes on Coron Island, home of the reclusive Tagbanua Tribe. Internationally known tour operators run regular sea kayaking tours among the islands around northern Palawan.

CALUIT ISLAND WILDLIFE SANCTUARY

Covering an area of 3,700 hectares, this unique sanctuary is home to both endemic animals and African wildlife such as giraffe, zebra, gazelles, native Calamian deer.

Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center
(formerly Crocodile Farming Institute). Aims to preserve and conduct further research studies on endangered species of crocodiles. One of the projects is a hospital for sick and disabled crocodiles. It also intends to make good use of the raw materials derived from crocodile skin.

They also maintain a mini-zoo featuring some of Palawan's native animals

PUERTO PRINCESA/ST. PAUL'S SUBTERRANEAN RIVER NATL PARK

(Day tour)

A 3 hour rugged but scenic drive will bring us to Sabang. Walk part of the “Monkey” trail to the Ranger’s Hut. After a picnic lunch, board a small canoe to paddle on the river flowing inside the bat filled caverns. An amazing show of nature’s sculpture; this snake-like river beneath the limestone cliffs of the 3,901 hectare St. Paul’s National Park.

HONDA BAY ISLAND HOPPING

(Day tour)

Only 15 mins away from Puerto Princesa City, a pumpboat off to Sta. Lourdes Wharf will take you to visit one unique island after another. E.g. Starfish & Snake Island with fine sand beaches or Cowrie Island with coral reef nearby. Relax, swim/ feed tropical fishes, or just relax down at the beach. Picnic lunch on one of the islands.

The bay consists of several islets with shallow reefs bordering fabulous beaches which have become the favorite swimming, snorkelling, and diving destinations of local residents and tourists. These islets are the Cannon (Cowrie) Island, Bat Island, Lu-Ii Island (derived from the word ""lulubog-lilitaw"", meaning floating and sinking island, is visible only during low tide), Meara Marina, Starfish Island (known for its fine white sand and clear water ,Snake Island (an island with a long stretch of fine white sand shaped like a snake), Pandan Island, and Senorita Island (the breeding site of lapu-lapu fish). Lodging facilities are available for overnight stays in the islands of Meara Marina and Starfish (Sandbar Resort).

ESTRELLA WATERFALLS

Day tour)

A 2-3 hour drive south of Puerto Princesa City will bring you to the foot of a rainforest mountain with its waterfalls. One can enjoy its massage from the spring cool water cascading while sitting on a rock. Explore the surrounding nature’s park if you love nature.

BATAK TRIBES, TREKKING

(Day tour)
We leave 0730 to San Rafael, a 2 hours drive from Puerto Princesa City. From there, we trek 2.5 hrs to the Batak Tribe. Along the way familiarize yourself with the names of the giant trees. Lunch at riverside of the rainforest. Late afternoon, return to Puerto Princesa City. Site trip to Vietnamese Village if time permits. Including Batak interpreter guide and helper.

TANABAG JUNGLE TREK

(2D/1N)

Overnight tour with full board meals. Tanabag is the home to the Tabak and Tagbanua Tribes; a semi-nomadic cultural minority. By walking at least 3 hrs we reach the tribe and stay overnight in their community to experience their everyday village life.

TABON CAVE COMPLEX

Tabon Cave Complex (Day tour)

About 157 kms south of Puerto Princesa City , Tabon Caves can be reached by taking a bus or jeepney ride from the provincial capital to Quezon followed by a pumpboat ride from Quezon wharf to the caves. Travel time is 3-4 hours by bus or jeepney to Quezon and 20-30 minutes’ boat ride from Quezon pier to the caves.

Tabon Cave is located at the base of a towery limestone cliff facing the South China Sea. An impressive dome shaped entrance chamber bathed by sunlight. The Tabon Man, discovered by a National Museum Field Team, proves that the Phils was once a part of Mainland Asia with flora and fauna, similar to Borneo/ Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Cave trekking will take (more or less) 2 hours to the different passages and chambers with its archeological findings.

NORTH WEST PALAWAN (excluding Port Barton)

5 DAY/4 NIGHT CAMPING & ISLAND HOPPING

with boat (excluding PORT BARTON)

Day 1: From Port Barton's Swissipinni Lodge we head early morning off-shore along the beautiful coast for El Nido passing the small fishing center Liminangcong.
Overnight in comfortable, spacious tents near El Nido.

Day 2: Visit the blue lagoons and fascinating islands with small sandy beaches in The Baquit Archipelago. Enjoy snorkelling its coral reefs, swimming in between the famous rugged, steep limestone cliffs. B.B.Q. Overnight on one of the islands.

Day 3: Visit little El Nido town, north of the "Last Frontier". Free day to relax, shop or sightseeing. Sunset cruise with a bonfire on the beach. Night fishing.

Day 4: Departure to Port Barton, with island hopping in the Pagdanan Bay. Overnight camp on an island.

Day 5: Early morning departure to visit Underground River (entrance fee on own
account). Experience a canoe-trip within the bat-filled caverns. Admire the cathedral-like caverns of this river that stretches up to 8 km underneath the
limestone cliffs.Lunch at St. Paul's National Park. Compulsory trek via "MonkeyTrail" to Sabang.

In the afternoon you might opt here either to take public transportation to Puerto Princessa or return to Port Barton's Swissippini Lodge by boat.

Minimum 6 persons, maximum 8 persons.

The starting point of this boat tour is at Puerco island, Palawan Northeast. The itinerary could be changed up to 8 days. Suggested visits to explore the Northeast of Palawan are: Mau-Manu island, Elephant island, Apulit island (near Club Noah Resort), Flower island , Baraton Point (located at the northern tip of the island), Lalutaya Island or Bacuit Bay El Nido.

Minimum 6 persons. $95 USD / person per day
